I’m Lamar Lampkins, an Associate Broker with EXIT True Design Realty, bringing more than 10 years of real estate experience to clients throughout Chicago and the surrounding communities, with a particular focus on Chicago’s South Side and south suburbs.

Over the years, I’ve learned that the most important question I can ask a client isn’t simply, “Are you looking to buy or sell?”

It’s “Why?”

People make real estate decisions for very real reasons. A growing family may need more space. Someone may be downsizing, relocating, investing, dealing with an inherited property, or simply ready for a different chapter. A homeowner whose property failed to sell may still have the same goal they had when they originally put the house on the market.

Understanding that goal comes first.

My job is to listen, ask the right questions, identify obstacles, and develop a strategy designed around the client—not force every client through the same real estate process.

For sellers, that means looking beyond putting a property on the MLS and waiting for something to happen. We examine pricing, positioning, presentation, marketing, buyer perception, market conditions, and what may prevent the property from getting the results we want. When something isn’t working, I believe in identifying the why and adjusting the strategy accordingly.

For buyers and investors, I bring that same approach: understand the objective first, evaluate the opportunities carefully, negotiate aggressively when appropriate, and help my client make an informed decision.

I believe clients deserve straightforward communication—even when the conversation is difficult. They deserve an agent who will listen before prescribing a solution, explain the reasoning behind the strategy, and advocate for their interests throughout the transaction.

My goal isn’t simply to close a transaction. It’s to help you accomplish the reason you entered the real estate market in the first place.
